What I've tended to find is that a huge variety of monsters have either a reach or ranged move of some kind, or some kind of movement option (burrow speed, incorporeal movement and so forth) that bypasses your perimeter; if you have a good DM they will tailor content to have a mix of enemies you can dominate, and some that just don't care about your shenanigans. The weapon must have the two-handed or versatile property for you to gain this benefit. When a creature within 5 feet of you makes an attack against a target other than you (and that target doesn’t have this feat), you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against the attacking creature.
Unearthed arcana if I'm not mistaken. If the target is Medium or smaller, it must make a Strength saving throw. Tunnel Fighter is ridiculous and I highly recommend not allowing it.
